The Plinth

Tap & Pole

I ordered a few things from Magnum Motorhomes for the wetroom, which is where I got the Smev and Shower Tray from. Their prices compare very reasonably and with good customer service and fast delivery, I recommend them for anyone looking to do this themselves.

I had ordered a plinth, shower mixer tap and riser pole set for the wetroom, with the tap being microswitched (same as the kitchen one). The reason for this is I will be putting them on a relay circuit with the pump, which I have had explained to me is the best way to do it so who am I to argue.

So I needed to put a hole in the top of it, the plinth is made of quite durable PVC so it was just a case of measuring it's position and then drilling some holes through it till it fitted neatly.

Then I fitted the pole for the shower head, this was just a case of measuring in to one of the frame supports to give it support as it's just held on with 2 large screws.

I then had to decide on a position for the plinth, had a choice of 2 walls but in order for me to screw it on (didn't fancy gluing it), I opted for the same wall as the pole.

So then I needed to cut through the PVC/Ply wall for the water hoses and power cables for connecting up when I eventually get the services in.

So with that done, it was just a case of screwing the plinth the the wall, I kept it tight to the right hand side wall to allow me to use the frame wood again to hold the screws in tighter.
